About 200 participants attended a Radio Veritas Asia 50-year jubilee event at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Bangladesh center in Dhaka.
The Nov. 1 event included bishops, priests, nuns, media professionals, former and current producers and some 100 listeners.
The event was the first phase of RVA Bengali Service’s celebrations to mark the jubilee. The second phase was held in Kolkata on Nov. 10.
In April, RVA launched its jubilee celebrations in Quezon City in Manila, where it was conceived and started in 1969.
RVA provides online radio services in 22 languages. It launched its Bengali Service on Dec. 1, 1980.
