Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Mylo Hubert C. Vergara, D.D, as Bishop of Pasig on April 20, 2011. He was installed on June 23, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Pasig City.
Bishop Vergara was born on Oct. 23, 1962, in Manila. He was ordained a priest on March 24, 1990, at Manila Cathedral. Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of San Jose, Nueva Ecija, on Feb. 12, 2005. His episcopal ordination took place two months later on April 30. He was installed as bishop on May 14, 2005.
After his high school studies, Bishop Vergara studied philosophy and theology at Holy Apostles Senior Seminary from 1985 to 1990. In 1990, Bishop Vergara served as parish parochial vicar of St. Andrew the Apostle church in Bel-Air, Makati.
From 1990 to 1994, he served as dean of studies at Holy Apostles Senior Seminary, EDSA, Guadalupe, Makati City. From 1994-2001, Bishop Vergara was the rector, Holy Apostles Senior Seminary, EDSA, Guadaluope, Makati City. He also served as Presbyteral Council Member, Archdiocese of Manila, during the same period.
In 1999 he became acting director of Bahay-Pari, EDSA, Guadalupe, Makati City. Bishop Vergara became chaplain, Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City from 1999 to 2000.
Since 2002 he has been serving as president, Radio Veritas Global Broadcasting, Manila. From 2003-2004, he was the Chancellor, Diocese of Cubao.
