Bishop Florentino F. Cinense, D.D., PhD, STL was born on March 14, 1938 in Guimba, Nueva Ecija. He was ordained a priest on Dec. 21, 1963 in Cabanatuan City. Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of San Jose on May 24, 1984. He was ordained on July 14, 1984. On Aug. 17, 1985, the pope appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Tarlac. By succession, he became Bishop of Tarlac on Jan. 21, 1988.

Currently, he serves as a member of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines' (CBCP) Episcopal Commission on Ecumenical Affairs.

Bishop Cinence speaks English, Tagalog and Ilokano.
