Vatican official gets honorary degree
“We strive to train Chinese clergy. It is similar to the bridging function of the archbishop, whose duty is to promote dialogue and understanding between the Chinese communities and the Holy See,” said Bernard Li, Fu Jen president.
He said he hoped the Vatican official can enhance diplomatic Taiwan-Holy See relations after becoming a Fu Jen member.
Fu Jen is celebrating its 50years of service in Taiwan and is the only pontifical university among the Chinese communities that is under direct authority of the Vatican, said Archbishop Peter Liu Cheng-chung of Kaohsiung, chair of the broad of trustees.
