Indian cardinal appeals for prayer for kidnapped Salesian

Country's bishops' seek 'urgent action' from government

Indian Cardinal Oswald Gracias of Bombay has appealed for prayers for the release of Salesian Father Tom Uzhunnalil, ‎abducted by gunmen early March in Yemen. 

The cardinal issued his appeal April 1 for prayer and mercy to save ‎the 56-year-old priest, AsiaNews reported.  

The attackers stormed the ‎Missionaries of Charity compound in Aden, March 4, killing 16 people including four nuns. 

India's bishops ‎have appealed to the government, calling for urgent action to secure the release of the Salesian ‎priest. ‎
