North Korea: A penniless country with nuclear ambitions May 15, 2019

Despite being one of the world’s poorest countries, North Korea is financing a nuclear weapons program.
This DW Documentary looks at how North Korean officials from ‘Office 39’ working overseas are able to source foreign cash to pay for such devastating weaponry. 
Among the ways that the regime earns foreign money is through sending millions of North Korean workers abroad, selling their services to over 40 countries around the world. Their subsequent salaries flow directly into Kim Jong Un’s treasury.
