Mass tourism's toll on Thailand's environment September 11, 2019

Tens of millions of people visit Thailand each year, with many spending time at tourist resorts which discharge untreated sewage into the sea. This is one example of challenges faced by the natural environment from mass tourism in the kingdom. The dumping of plastic waste and coral-destroying trawling for seafood are two other examples of how the ocean is affected.
