THAILAND: About 5,000 scouts aged 12-17 years from all over the world gathered Dec. 26, 2010 to Jan. 2 in Thailand for the first International Catholic Conference of Scouting (ICCS) jamboree. Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva opened the event held at the Vachiravudh Scout Camp in Si Racha, southeast of Bangkok. ICCS’s stated purpose is to contribute to the complete education of young people through scouting from the point of view of the Catholic faith.
