In commemoration of the second anniversary of the sinking of the Sewol ferry, Suwon Diocese organized a special April 7 concert.

The concert held at the auditorium of the Ansan Life Center was aimed at remembering the tragedy that killed more than 300 people and healing the pain of the bereaved families. With the theme “The Second Spring without Them,” Korean contemporary Christian musician Kim Jung-shik performed for two hours.

After his performance, the 416 Choir performed songs titled We Will Not Forget and We Should Take Hands. The 416 Choir is composed of parents who lost children in the Sewol sinking on April 16, 2014.

Vivianna Lee Ji-yeon, mother of Anthoy Kim Je-hoon who died on the sunken ferry, said, “Two years ago, when the flowers of cherry blossom were swirling like these days, our sons and daughters died. For us bereaved families to be truly healed, the fact-finding works should be done and we should make a society where principles work and truth is alive.”
