Church-run SIGNIS-Sri Lanka has called for entries for its cinema and television awards to be held in November.
Local films and TV episodes shown in 2015 will be considered for the SIGNIS-Sri Lanka awards scheduled for Nov. 12 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo.
Father W.N. Lal Pushpadewa Fernando, director of the Sri Lankan branch of the world Catholic association for communication, said DVD copies of film or TV show submissions should be sent in by July 31.
"A competition on cinema reviews limited to 3,000 words for new comers is also being organized," said Oblate Father Pushpadewa Fernando, the national director of the Sri Lankan bishops' conference's social communications commission.
SIGNIS is a Catholic association for professionals involved in audiovisual, broadcast and new media, with a presence in more than 130 countries.
