PHILIPPINES: Journalists have a duty to be instruments of truth and understanding, said Archbishop Jose Palma of the central Philippine archdiocese of Cebu. "Know that you are very much workers for evangelization, and if I may say so, know that you are becoming saints yourselves," Archbishop Palma told the media after his installation as the pastor of the country’s largest ecclesiastical territory yesterday. "I believe that the media is a blessing. I believe that the mass media is a very important agent, a very important community of people who can be collaborators in the Church’s work of evangelization," he said. PV12849.1636
