On February 1, UCA News published a report titled, “Philippine govt declares Manila Bay ‘dead’” which stated that authorities had declared Manila Bay a “dead body of water” due to extreme pollution.
It has since come to light that elements of this story have not met UCA News’ editorial standards which have cast serious doubts over its accuracy.
As such, UCA News has withdrawn this story and regrets any misunderstandings that have arisen resulting from its publication.
