Myanmar nuns caring for the disabled

The Holy Infant Jesus Center for the Disabled and Orphans is located in Myanmar’s Shan State.

It was built in 1963 and it's run by the Sisters of Charity of Saints Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa congregation.

They provide a range of service. From physiotherapy to providing an education for disadvantaged and impoverished children.

Nearly 200 people are cared for on a full-time basis at the center. Some are visually or hearing impaired. Others suffer from polio or epilepsy.

The nuns are able to do this through donations and financial support from generous donors and the Myanmar government.
