Minorities honor royal wedding

A Christian group in Islamabad have exhibited portraits of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II as a part of struggle of minorities for equal rights. World Minorities Alliance organized the press show last Friday at Marriot Hotel in the Pakistan capital. Around 170 portraits of Queen Elizabeth were displayed “to pay tribute to the newlyweds Prince William and Catherine Middleton in London," said Julius Salik, convener of the alliance in a press statement. “We demand democracy (as in Britain) which guarantees equal rights”, he told ucanews praying for a prosperous life for the new couple. Presently there are 13 minority members in the British Parliament including nine Muslim and four Hindus and Sikhs.
