Some 200 young people marched in protest yesterday against an assault on a priest by a local government official. Father Flavianus Kuftalan was allegedly attacked last week with a stungun-style weapon in an apparent road-rage incident after he stopped his motorcycle at a traffic light in front of district attorney’s office clerk El Amalo's car. The marchers went from St. John the Baptist Church in North Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara province, to the district attorney’s office, urging the law enforcement officers to speed up the legal process. Police promised Amalo would “face a thorough legal process for what he has done.”
