A well-known South Korean singer is holding a charity concert in Seoul with proceeds going to the building of a church for the deaf.
Bibiana Choi Sung-hee, (better known by her fans as Bada or Sea), will hold a concert Sept. 6 at Bangbaedong Church in Seoul. The ticket money is going to the Seoul Catholic Association for the Deaf to build a church as part of a special parish for the deaf.
"I hope many Catholics join my effort to help them build a church," said Bibiana Choi, a member of S.E.S, South Korea's first truly successful female K-pop group.
"We should build the church together, they are all the sons and daughters of God," she said.
"I have a talent that I can share with other people and I receive more than I give with these kinds of concerts," she added.
This will be her second concert helping the association.
In the lead up to the concert, Bibiana Choi has been busy learning sign language to communicate with those audience members attending who have hearing impediments. Special vibrating chairs will also be equipped to help those with a hearing-impairment feel the music.
