Supporters of hard-line Sunni group Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) took to the streets in several parts of the country on Oct. 31 following a Supreme Court verdict acquitting and ordering the release of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman sentenced to death over blasphemy allegations.
TLP head Khadim Rizvi gathered hundreds of activists at an intersection near the Punjab Assembly in Lahore. Baton-wielding activists are occupying surrounding bus stops and security points.
