This UNDP video looks at the social, economic and human impact of the glacial melt in the Himalayas on the tiny nation of Bhutan. Communities in Bhutan's Punakha-Wangdue and Chamkhar Valleys have been living with the threat of glacial lake outburst floods due to the rapid rate of glacial melting resulting from rising global temperatures, says the video. A UN-supported project brings the government and people together in a project that aims to prevent disaster.( Video by http://asia-pacific.undp.org )
