Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma has directed his priests and heads of chaplaincies to recite a new Oratio Imperata, or obligatory prayer, for good weather. He also reminded Catholics to do their bit for environmental conservation and protection. Archbishop Palma said the prayer to be recited during all Masses was written following unprecedented flash floods that hit the central Philippine cities of Mandaue and Cebu last month. “This is a wake-up call for all of us and has compelled us to undertake emergency measures to deal with natural calamities if they happen again,” the archbishop said.
