The annual meeting of Episcopal Commissions of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Bangladesh on March 2 heard that foreign funds are drying up for the local Church. “We have been trying to offer Church services to people but in reality the fund-flow is declining day by day. For instance, the Netherlands used to finance four projects in the past but they support only one today,” said Benedict Alo D’Rozario, executive director of Caritas Bangladesh (www.caritasbd.org). “I request Bishops to talk to donors when they travel abroad [to tell them] there are many poor in the country who need their support,’ he said.
