Bangladeshi river sees dramatic rise in salinity

A sudden rise in the amount of salt in one of the longest rivers in Bangladesh is having a devastating effect on public health and the environment. The Madhumati River flows for nearly 200 kilometers through the country's southwest. Environmentalists warn of devastating consequences if saltwater intrusion continues at this rate.
