Vietnamese hold year-end rites

Followers of faiths and beliefs in Vietnam's central provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri make special religious thanksgivings to Heaven, gods, village founders and ancestors at the end of the lunar year and pray for a good lunar new year, which officially starts on Feb. 12. They butcher pigs and poultry, prepare traditional food and offer colorful flowers, fruits and food to gods and ancestors.
