People in Vietnam's coastal city of Nha Trang began celebrating the Tet or Lunar New Year festival on Jan 20.
They welcomed the Year of the Cat that began on Jan 22.
Streets, churches and other public places across the country were decorated with colorful flowers, flags and statues of felines and other cat-themed decorations.
The Year of the Cat is believed to bring good luck and smooth sailing in Vietnam.
The country's largest traditional festival lasts one week.
