Nearly one million ethnic Rohingya Muslims from Rakhine State of Myanmar have crossed the border into Bangladesh to escape deadly persecution by military and hard-line Buddhists since 1970s.
The two bloodiest military crackdowns — October 2016 and August 2017 — forced the largest exodus of refugees, estimated more than 770,000. The beleaguered community started a new life in overcrowded and dilapidated refugee camps in Cox's Bazar of Bangladesh in relative peace and security amid adversities.
Ucanews.com has documented the life of refugees living in Cox's Bazar camps in an ongoing basis.
