Philippine town honors Holy Cross with river festival

A town north of Philippine capital Manila holds an annual festival in honor of the Holy Cross. The celebration has been going on for years since a cross was supposedly found floating in the river of Bocaue town in 1850. The highlight of the festivities is a procession of a replica of the cross that is placed on top of a pagoda and carried on a barge on the river. On July 2, 1993, the floating pagoda sank, resulting in the death of more than 200 devotees.
