Muslim Filipinos celebrate Eid'l Fitr

Muslims in the Philippines celebrated the "Feast of the Breaking of the Fast" or Eid'l Fitr on June 15, marking the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

The celebration has been proclaimed a national holiday in the Philippines since 2002 to foster peace and goodwill among major religions in the predominantly Christian country.

On this day, Muslim Filipinos donate to charity, sometimes in the form of food.

After attending early morning public prayers and gatherings, Filipino Muslim families celebrate with a feast with their extended family and friends.
