Hong Kong protests surround govt buildings

Hong Kong authorities have postponed the second reading of a contentious bill allowing extradition to mainland China as tens of thousands of protesters blockaded government headquarters.
The protest paralyzed central Hong Kong on June 12 in a defiant show of strength against the government’s plans. There have been reports that police have conducted baton charges, used tear gas and water cannons against some protestors.
The protest follows a mass rally by locals opposed to the bill that the Civil Human Rights Front estimated more than a million people joined on June 9.
