Hong Kong mourns student protester

More than 1,000 Christians attended a prayer meeting in Hong Kong to mourn a student who died after a fall at a protest venue.

Chow Tsz-lok, 22, a student at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, was found injured in a parking lot as police clashed with protesters in Tseung Kwan O in the New Territories on Nov. 5. He fell into a coma while being treated in hospital and died four days later from brain injuries.

Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Ha Chi-shing attended the Nov. 10 prayer meeting at Chater Garden in Central. He called for a full inquiry into the student’s death.

The event was organized by Christian groups including the Justice and Peace Commission of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Federation of Catholic Students and the Diocesan Youth Commission.
