Bishop Michael Yeung Ming-cheung of Hong Kong died on Jan. 3 due to liver failure, aged 73.
Hong Kong Diocese arranged a vigil Mass and funeral Mass on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Government high-ranking officials and thousands of Catholics attended the masses.
At the vigil Mass, Father Dominic Chan Chi-ming recalled how Bishop Yeung reminded Catholics during his last Mass as celebrant not to forget to help the most neglected, the humblest and the most degraded people in the society.
Bishop Yeung died after serving his episcopacy for less than 18 months. He is now is buried at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Happy Valley.
