Hindus celebrate Navratri with great pomp and fervor in India

Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival observed in honor of the goddess Durga.

Hindus believe the goddess Durga to be an aspect of Adi Parashakti, the supreme goddess.

The festival spans nine nights and ten days between March and April, and again between September and October every year.

The festival is observed for different reasons and is celebrated differently in various parts of the Hindu-Indian cultural sphere.
