French priests, nuns help Cuba tackle crisis

For decades, despite the strained relationship between the Catholic Church and the revolution led by the late Fidel Castro, the help of priests was tolerated in Cuba. Under a US embargo and deprived of tourism due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Cuba faces a serious shortage of food and medicine. The support of French priests and nuns has become essential to the people of one village.
