Christian bishops, priests and nuns have joined non-violent protests in capital Colombo, other cities and villages across Sri Lanka calling for the resignation of all parliamentarians, the president and the government. The protests erupted in early March as Sri Lanka suffered its worst economic crisis in decades. Demonstrators accuse the government of mismanaging the economy and creating a foreign exchange crisis that has led to shortages of essentials.
