Catholic clinic comes to tsunami victims rescue

Hundreds of Muslims who survived a tsunami that devastated coastal areas along Indonesia's Sunda Strait on Dec. 22 received help from an emergency clinic run by the Catholic Church in Panimbang Jaya in Banten province.

At least 437 people were killed by the tsunami that devastated towns in Banten and Lampung provinces.

The Catholic Church has established health, food, and trauma healing stations since Dec. 24.

Catholic and Muslim volunteers — doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, nurses and midwives — have helped people affected by the disaster.
