Bishop Bosco Lin Chi-nan was born in Hualien County, eastern Taiwan, on May 14, 1943. He was ordained a priest on Jan. 6, 1973 in Rome, Italy. He was appointed as the auxiliary bishop of Kaohsiung on Oct. 8, 1992 and was ordained on Jan. 2, 1993. Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tainan on Jan. 24, 2004. He was installed on March 21 the same year.
On Nov. 14, 2020 Bishop Bosco Lin Chi-nan retired.
