Pedro Natividad Bantigue was born on Jan. 31, 1920, in Sta. Monica, Hagonoy, Bulacan. He was ordained a priest on May 31, 1945. His episcopal ordination was on July 25, 1957. On May 29, 1961, he was appointed titular Bishop of Catula and Auxiliary Bishop of Manila until his appointment as first Bishop of San Pablo on January 26, 1967. He retired on July 12, 1995.

The bishop holds a Bachelor degree in Education and a Doctorate in Canon Law.

His previous assignments include Curate of San Jose de Trozo, Manila (1945-1947); Vicar Econome of San Miguel, pro-Cathedral-Manila and Prefect of Discipline at Manila Cathedral School (1947-1949); Private Secretary to three Archbishops of Manila - Archbishop Michael J. O'Doherty, Archbishop Gabriel Reyes, and Archbishop Rufino Santos (1949-1954); Secretary to the Apostolic Visitator of Seminaries in the Philippines - Msgr. Giacono Morelli; Parish Priest of Sta. Rita Parish, Philamlife Homes, QC and Vicar Forane of Sta. Rita Vicariate (1958-1961); Domestic Prelate (May 26, 1960); Parish Priest of Quiapo, Manila, Auxiliary Bishop and Vicar General of Manila (1961-1967); Treasurer, Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).; CBCP Administrative Council member (2 years); Chairman, Committee on Revision of the former Constitution & By-Laws of CBCP; Chairman, Episcopal Commission on Clergy (2 years); Chairman, Finance Committee of the 1981 Papal Visit; Chairman, National Catholic Committee On Scouting; Chairman, Episcopal Commission on Prisoner's Welfare; Member, Episcopal Commission on Collegio Filippino; Member, CBCP Finance Committee; BOD Member, Philippine Radio Educational and Information Center, Inc. (PREIC); and Chairman, Committee for Radio Veritas-Domestic, (PREIC)
