Bishop Jose C. Sorra, D.D. was born on March 9, 1929, in Malinao. He was ordained a priest on March 17, 1956. On May 27, 1974, he was appointed bishop of Virac, Philippines. His episcopal ordination was on Aug. 28, 1974. On March 1, 1993, he was appointed bishop of Legazpi. He retired on April 1, 2005
