Bishop Isaac Danu was born on March 9, 1948, in the village of Presaw, Yado Parish, Taungngu Diocese. In his primary classes he studied in the Middle School of Yado from 1955 to 1961 and he studied his middle and high school classes in St. Theresa's Minor Seminary, Taunggyi from 1961 to 1968. Then he joined St. Joseph Catholic Major Seminary, Yangon from 1968 until 1975. He was ordained a priest by Bishop Sebastian U Shwe Yauk, on April 1975, in Yado, Taungngu Diocese.

After ordination, he was appointed, assistant parish priest of Leiktho parish from 1975 to 1978 and then he was appointed rector of St. Peter's Catechistate from 1978 to 1981. Bishop Sebastian U Shwe Yauk appointed Father Isaac Danu Vicar General of the Diocese in 1980. The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Myanmar had chosen him to be the General Procurator of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Myanmar (1981 - 1984).

On June 4, 1984, Father Isaac Danu was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Taungngu by Pope John Paul II. He was consecrated Auxiliary Bishop of Taungngu by Bishop Sebastian U Shwe Yauk on Jan. 17, 1985 in Leiktho, Taungngu Diocese.

In 1988, Bishop Sebastian U Shwe Yauk passed away and Bishop Isaac Danu was elected Administrator of the Diocese Taungngu. On Sept. 1, 1989, he was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Taungngu by Pope John Paul II.

On July 16, 2023, Pope Francis accepted the resignation from Bishop Isaac Danu.
