Bishop Martin Su Yao-wen was born on Nov. 9, 1959, in Tsoying district of Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan. He was ordained priest for Taichung on June 8, 1989 and bishop Sept. 25, 2007. (appointed June 25, 2007.) Bishop Su is a member of the standing committee of the Chinese Regional Bishops' Conference in Taiwan and the president of the conference's Commission of Sacred Liturgy.
