Bishop Ignatius Loyola Ivan Mascarenhas of Simla -Chandigarh diocese was born on June 3, 1949, in Kadri of Mangalore diocese in South India. He was ordained priest on Dec. 17, 1977, for Delhi archdiocese. He was appointed bishop on Feb. 10, 2009. On April 3, 2009, he was ordained bishop of Simla- Chandigarh diocese. Prior to his appointment as the bishop, he had been serving as the rector of Regional Propaedutic Seminary in Simla-Chandigarh diocese.
