Bishop Mar Remigiose Maria Paul Inchananiyil was born July 26, 1961 in Vettilappara, a village in Malappuram district in the state of Kerala. He was ordained priest on Dec. 12, 1987. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him bishop of Syro-Malabar Catholic diocese of Thamarassery on Jan. 15, 2010. His episcopal ordination was on April 8, 2010.

Bishop Inchananiyil completed high school studies at Areakode and joined St. Joseph's Seminary at Tellicherry. He took a doctorate in canon law and was ordained in 1987 and served as the vicar at Valayam, Thalayad, Theyyappara, and Karingad parishes. Before his appointment as the ordinary of Thamarassery diocese, he was the chancellor and secretary of that diocese.
