Pope Francis June 25, 2018 appointed Reverend Joseph Nguyen Duc Cuong as Bishop of Thanh Hoa in Viêt Nam. He was a priest of Da Lat at the time of appointment.

Reverend Joseph Nguyen Duc Cuong was born on 14 October 1953 in Quang Truong, in the diocese of Thanh Hoa.

He did seminary studies for Da Lat in its seminaries and at the Pontifical Saint Pius X College in Da Lat. He completed his priestly formation at the Saint Joseph major seminary in Saigon. In 2012 he held a leadership course at the East Asian Pastoral Institute in Manila, Philippines.
