Bishop Antonius Subianto Bunyamin was born on Feb. 14, 1968, in Bandung. He entered the minor Seminary in Mertoyudan, and later joined the Order of the Holy Cross, completing his studies in philosophy and theology at the Catholic University in Bandung.

He professed his solemn vows on August 28, 1994, and was ordained priest on June 26, 1996.He has served in the following pastoral and academic roles: 1996-1999: Studies for the Licentiate in Philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium; 1999-2003: Professor of Philosophy at the Catholic University in Bandung; 2003-2007.

He holds a degree in philosophy from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome (2007-2010) and served as the vice provincial O.S.C. in Bandung and professor at the Catholic University in Bandung (2008). He also served the diocese and its institutions in various capacities.

On June 3, 2014, Pope appointed Fr. Antonius Subianto Bunyamin as bishop of Bandung.
