Bishop Jose Colin Mendoza Bagaforo was born on Jan. 30, 1954, in Cotabato City. He was ordained a priest on March 25, 1980, and appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Cotabato on Feb. 2, 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI. On April 25, 2006 he was ordained Auxiliary Bishop of Cotabato at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cotabato City. He is the president of Notre Dame of Tacurong College in Tacurong City and vice president of the Notre Dame Educational Association (NDEA). He is executive director of the housing program of Cotabato-based Notre Dame Foundation for Charitable Activities, Inc. and the director of Bahay Maria Home for Elderly and Sick. He is also chairman of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Board, Financial Board, Personnel Board and Seminary Board.
On Jul. 25, 2016 Pope Francis appointed him as the Bishop of Kidapawan Diocese.
