Bishop Vincent Aind was born on Jan. 30, 1955, in Kalchini. He was made a bishop while serving as the dean of the faculty of philosophy of the Morning Star Regional Seminary in West Bengal.

He is a graduate in economics from St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling, and a postgraduate in English from North Bengal University.

He studied theology at St. Joseph’s Seminary Mangalore and later gained a doctorate from Gregorian University, Rome.

After ordained a priest for Jalpaiguri diocese in 1984, he served it in different capacities as assistant parish priest, parish priest besides working as professor, spiritual director and rector of Morning Star Regional Seminary.

Since 2007 he is a consultant and a member of the diocesan council for economic affairs and secretary of the commission of the clergy, religious and seminarians of the regional episcopal conference of West Bengal.

He is also a member of executive committee and editorial team of the Association of Christian Philosophers of India (ACPI).
