Pope Francis appointed Father Ruben Caballero Labajo as Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu Archdiocese on June 23, 2022.
Bishop Labajo was born Sept 24, 1966, in Talisay. He studied philosophy and theology at the San Carlos Seminary in Cebu City. After years in parish ministry, from 2014 to 2019 he was senior chaplain at Cebu City Cathedral and dean and member of the diocesan staff council.
From 2017 Bishop Labajo was a member of the College of Consultors and the Council of Priests. Since 2020, he served as vicar general of the Archdiocese of Cebu and senior chaplaincy of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Balamban.
