Rev. Julian Leow Beng Kim was appointed Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 3, 2014.
He was the dean of Studies at the Major Seminary in Penang at the time of appointment.
Bishop Julian Leow was born January 3, 1964 in Seremban, Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur. After his school studies before entering the seminary, he studied at New South Wales University of Sydney, earning a bachelor's degree in Accountancy Civil.
He worked in Sydney and then in Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Singapore, in charge of various buildings. He then completed his studies in philosophy and theology at the major seminary in Penang. He was ordained a priest on April 20, 2002 for the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur.
After his ordination Bishop Julian served as a vicar of two parishes before he assumed the office as a Dean of studies and trainer at the Major seminary of Penang.
Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur was vacant since December 13, 2013, after the resignation of Archbishop Murphy Nicholas Xavier Pakiam for reasons of age.
