Pope Francis has appointed Monsignor Anthony Weradet Chaiseri as metropolitan Archbishop of Tharé and Nonseng.
Prior to the new appointment, Archbishop Chaiseri served the vicar-general of the archdiocese.
Archbishop Chaiseri was born on June 26, 1963, in Tharé, in the archdiocese of Tharé and Nonseng. He attended the diocesan minor seminary in Tharé and completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Lux Mundi National Major Seminary in Sampran.
He was ordained a priest on March 21, 1992.
Archbishop Chaiseri continued his higher studies in biblical theology at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome from 1995 to 1997, and attended a brief course on formation for seminary at the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum Athenaeum in Rome.
From 1998 to 2008, he served as rector of the G.M. Vianney Major Seminary in Thakaek, Laos, where he taught sacred Scriptures. He also served as vicar-general and parish priest of the Mother of Martyrs Shrine, Songkon.
Archbishop Chaiseri is preceded by Archbishop Louis Chamniern Santisuknriran.
