Catholic Social Welfare

  • Nakhon Sawan diocese has been involved in many social welfare and developmental works. Through its Commission on Emergency Relief and Refugees and the Commission for the Promotion of Family Life, the diocese has helped thousands of displaced persons from Myanmar living in Thailand, tribal people as well as local Thai people in the diocese.
  • The religious congregations of men and women who work in the diocese are also engaged in social welfare work for people such as the elderly, the disabled and orphans.

  • Other institutes which serve tribal peoples are the Youth Hilltribe Center in Muang district of Phitsanulok province, and the Hilltribe Center in Mae Sot district of Tak province.
  • The diocese has built many churches, chapels and schools. Some of them are run by Religious priests and brothers from other dioceses.
  • These include the John Paul Seminary and La Salle Nursery, both in Muang district of Nakhon Sawan province.
