Reid Shelton Fernando

Father Reid Shelton Fernando is a prominent human rights defender. He was a university lecturer and former chaplain of the Young Christian Workers Movement of the archdiocese of Colombo. He is well known in Sri Lanka for his writings and commentaries on social and political issues. He has completed fifty years in the service as parish priest was studied post graduate studies in Leuven Catholic university in Belgium. He involved in human rights and especially convener of the prevention of torture attacks from 2003 to 2006. The priest was in charge for a brief period at Sri Lankan UCAN desk. He has published an English-Sinhala dictionary on theology.
