Young followers of different religions spent the weekend visiting four places of worship in Lahore to help gain a better understanding of each other.
Interfaith Youth in Action (IYA), a local chapter of World Faith, organized the bus tour to a 16thcentury mosque, a Protestant Cathedral, a gurdwara and the headquarters of the Baha’i community. The visitors asked faith-related questions from religious leaders and heard histories of the places.
“The exposure tour focused on building relations,” said Shahid Ghouri, IYA president in Pakistan. “In our view, speaking about peace and harmony at interfaith dialogue seminars and conferences in artificial environments like hotels and halls is less effective than seeing actual things in person.”
